Ch1- Life
Shanzis life had been hard, but it hadnt been bad. A vampires slave had many opportunities to live a good life. A vampire depended on his blood pet; it was their food, their life source. She knew this just as much as the feeling of the collar around her neck. Many of her race had grown content with this new custom; they were so few they were kept as slaves, but treated well. She did not understand this life but she would never be allowed to leave it. A nishanian with such powerful blood would never be free.
Nishanians had always been mistaken as elves because of their pointed ears, but they were nothing like elves. They were immortal beings that had blue blood that never ran dry. Powerful, beautiful, only pureblood vampires could control a nishanians magic. Shanzi was a pure example of her own race and only a very powerful vampire could keep her. They referred to her as The Blue Blooded Angel, and finally she would have a home.
Shanzi, come here, her vampire escort ordered her. He pulled at the chain until he had her safe in his arms. He had raised her for this day since she was a child. He sat down and pulled her into his lap. Rest, you are going to your new home tonight. I will no longer raise you; you will do what he says, eat what he says, and be as obedient as possible. Unlike me, he will be able to punish you. He leaned into the tree behind him and pulled her back with him until she was leaning against his chest. Once there he put a hand on her forehead, and used his own power to make her sleep.
When she woke up she was in a dark room on a couch. The chain was gone; her collar had a red gem where the chain should have been connected. She looked around quietly and then sat up. Her escort was gone.
How strange it is to be alone when youve been escorted around all your life, she said with a hushed tone of voice. A note sat on a table next to the couch and she picked it up. Shanzi, I am busy on an errand. Stay in your room; it is too dangerous for you to walk around on your own. Signed, your Master Vampire, Kaigune.
Shanzi looked at the letter a long time and then set it down. She shook her head. Seems like I have already been dropped off. Why is it too dangerous? She stood up and looked around, perhaps the window was open. To her disappointment two doors outside the window pane were locked and to her further dismay the pane needed a key to be lifted. Bah! she punched the window, which hurt her more then it hurt the glass.
She sat on the bed next to the window which was rather comfortable. The silence was overwhelming and she found herself feeling very lonely. This silence continued for an hour until her ears picked up a noise outside the room.
The noise sounded like a wounded creature. It was wheezing, panting behind the door, and whatever it was it was scratching at the door. Her violet eyes went wide as she listened to it; just sitting there on the bed made her feel useless. She needed to do something.
She went to the door and tried to turn the knob, but it was locked from the outside. The creature on the other side of the door began to pound on the door like it was in desperate need of aid. Nails dragged down the door, a pounding sound on the other end got louder making her heart pound faster as the wheezing sound got louder.
Her eyes were wide in fright, but she felt the need to help what was on the other side of the door. She looked around for something, anything that would open that door. A plastic ID card sat on a table next to the bed. She picked it up and tried to slip it through the door. To her horror the card snapped in half. She looked down at the piece in her hand and then threw it aside.
She stared at the door for a long time and began to think. The hinges! She pulled out drawers, rummaged through his closet, and finally found something: a screwdriver. She ran to the door and began to mess with the hinges, which wouldnt let go of the door. The door knob! Finally she took the screws out of the door knob and door. She could finally help that creature.
The door flew open and that creature had her strapped against a wall. Red eyes watched her, and a hand was around her neck. The creature looked insane, and she stared in horror. Just before it bit into her neck the creature looked up and threw her to the floor.
A man in a white uniform, and with black layered hair, stared angrily at the creature. You dare take what is mine? he said angrily, threateningly. His violet eyes were glaring at it as he walked to Shanzi and gently picked her up, He put one hand over her eyes.
Die, and be no more, scum, he said and when he took his hand away from her eyes a pile of dust was drifting away from the area the creature once was.
Youre safe now, your master vampire is here, he said soothingly as he laid her on the bed. Rest, and with that order her violet eyes drooped and she drifted off to sleep, so tenderly held in his arms.
